Ingrid designs and makes a range of ceramic kitchen and home wares which are sold under the Tufts brand or co-branded with the commissioning client. Ingrid also collaborates with other artists resulting in products such as the botanically illustrated Beynon + Tufts range and her new Watergarden range of basins with Catherine Campbell.
Her products are made predominantly using local porcelain. Making techniques are very much by hand and include throwing on a pottery wheel and slip casting. Pieces are then finished and fired. Glazing and firing again makes this a “hands on” process. Sometimes they are
decorated and fired again. It's labor intensive, but hopefully pieces are treasured and used for a very long time.
Ingrid says "I have always wanted to make things with clay since having great experiences with clay as a child but it took a while to get around to it. It's a medium that provides for unlimited exploration and engagement. I love the whole process from the design of objects - to
the final finishing of products. "I love making products that provide enjoyment to people every day". Her products have been featured in many publications and her remembrance series was a finalist in the Home Beautiful product of the year awards.
