Sarah Hankinson captures the pulse of modern style with her classic illustrations, which pair soft splashes of colours and meticulous line work to portray control and impulse, form and silhouette.
Her work balances light and dark to create elegant illustrations drawn with a harmonious combination of traditional and mixed media techniques.
Some of Sarah’s clients include Harper’s Bazaar Magazine, Maybelline New York-Austraila and US Target. In 2012 Sarah co-founded the co-working side of The Windsor Workshop and is also half of creative services agency Santiago Sunbird.
SARAHS LUCKY DIP QUESTIONS
What are the most important components to running an art practice
Ive always found having a good network and community around you to be essential to running a successful practice. To be able to collaborate, recommend and support each other is really important and pulls you through the tough times! I work in a shared studio (the amazing Windsor Workshop co working space) and its so nice to be able to get opinions, be inspired and have a chat day to day.
What books are currently on your bedside table
25 ways to live in the moment through art. My partner bought this for me and I am loving it so far - its about mindfulness and being present. Also I have just started My Brilliant Friend by Elena Ferrenta. It is part one of a trilogy set in Naples and came highly recommended so we shall see!
